About The Fingerprint Project
A movement dedicated to making mental health a conversation in the classroom.
Welcome to The Fingerprint Project! This in a project created to help bridge the gap in mental health education. Too many students have been failed by the systems, or lack thereof, put in place to protect them.
This project was started after seeing multiple friends and family be ignored or scolded for talking about mental illnesses. Too many people find the topic to be very taboo, yet this is a situation most people find themselves in at some point.
Mental health is a very important part of being a human being. Whether you struggle with a diagnosed mental illness or not, you still need to take care of your brain. Here at The Fingerprint Project, we believe everyone can benefit from these conversations.
When we bring mental health resources to students before they need them, they are much more likely to go to these places for help if the need ever occurs.
Mental health matters for everyone. It's time to talk about it.
About The Founder
Hi! My name is Emily Folker.
I started The Fingerprint Project back in 2018 after many years of volunteering within the mental health community. During these years, I realized just how many school-aged kids were struggling in the same way I did when I was their age. Because of this, I wanted to start up a project that specifically targeted the needs of that demographic. This project started as a labor of love, but I can't make big changes alone. With your help, we can spread resources to those who need it most all across the country.
