Asking for Help

Writer: Emily FolkerEmily Folker

One of the most difficult things you will need to do in your life. No matter how old we are or what path we take in life, everyone will need to ask for help at some point. The most important thing to realize is just that: reaching out is okay. reaching out is NORMAL.

Having a good support system is so necessary. It can be 1 person or 50 people. It can be family, friends, teachers, or a therapist. There is no wrong answer when it comes to talking about you and your health.

Take some time today to learn about what mental health resources are available in your local area, so you have them before you need them!

❗️Call 911 if you or someone you know needs immediate attention

❗️National Suicide Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255

❗️Your Life Iowa: Call (855) 581-8111 or text (855) 895-8398

id: This image has a photograph of two people sitting on a bolder looking out onto the ocean. One person has long brunette hair pulled up in a bun and is wearing a white t-shirt. The other person has long blond hair and is wearing a dark blue tank top. They have their arm over the other person’s shoulders lovingly. There is black and white text over a green semi-opaque box. The text reads, “The Fingerprint Project”, “Mental Health Awareness Month”, and “Asking for help”. /end id
