TW: Sexual Assault, PTSD

“At 15, I was sexually assaulted. Unfortunately, if you've been assaulted once, you're not exempt from ever being assaulted again. I was raped at 21, right at the beginning of my senior year of college. Since age 15, my life has been dedicated to helping survivors own their trauma and heal their bodies in the wake of sexual violence.
"At one given point in my life, I had been diagnosed with depression, general anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The road to healing is often daunting as it is life long for survivors, but my hope is to provide survivors with a sense of comfort -- I want them to know they can have a positive relationship with their bodies in the aftermath of an assault, and how their trauma can be apart of them, but doesn't always have to be the whole picture.
"I began Trauma Queens in June 2017 with the only hope being that this could potentially be a community for survivors to connect, gather helpful information on holistic healing practices, and find comfort in knowing they aren't alone. Now, my entire blog is based off Trauma Queens, and we even have merchandise now, which directly benefits Trauma Queens. The hope is that someday, Trauma Queens will develop into centers across the state (and country) with resources for survivors to utilize -- yoga classes, meditation courses, crafting classes, massage therapy, and trauma therapy are some of the things I see TQ centers offering.
"My only hope each day that I wake up and share my story is to show others that healing is possible. It's lifelong - but you don't have to do it alone. Remember: you were given this mountain to show others that it can be moved."
