Talking to Your Family

Your family can be some of the hardest people to talk to about your mental illness because of how much you might care about the way they see you.

Some families are very supportive and some just do not understand. Even though it can be extremely difficult, remember to only keep people in your life that build you up, and not tear you down.

In some extreme scenarios where your family is unwilling to learn, cutting ties or distancing yourself may be the answer. Just know that your mental and physical health should always be your first priority.
